Welcome to

Theosophical Association Aarhus

 - For Wisdom in Fellowship, Teaching and Dialogue -

Theosophical Association Aarhus (TAA) is an independent Association, consisting of approximately 200 members and working in cooperation with other associations and centres of similar nature in Denmark. We consider ourselves a part of the Theosophical Movement in the world that started with the pioneering work of H. P. Blavatsky, continued in the founding of The Theosophical Society in 1875, and later expressed itself in numerous associations, organisations and groups World Wide.

Theosophy is a genuine non-dogmatic and universal attitude, a search for truth rooted in holistic and esoteric values, and a practical spirituality with wisdom and compassion as the guiding forces. TAA aims at spreading the theosophical values and inspire people and institutions to implement theosophical principles in new and inventive ways. Theosophy is a teaching that openly invites all interested to make the teaching their own and live it, individually as well as collectively.

The purpose of TAA is to promote theosophy, the esoteric teaching in its manifold expressions, to work for interreligious Dialogue and to be an open fellowship rooted in brotherliness and spiritual wisdom. The Three Objects of Theosophical Association Aarhus are:

1.      To work for the Oneness of Humanity
without distinction of race, creed, sex or social status.

2.      To promote esoteric studies
 of Culture, Religion and Science.

3.      To further spiritual growth
based upon the values of the Ancient Wisdom.

We focus especially on Teaching and Interreligious Dialogue. In this respect we have developed good and trustworthy relations to Christian churches in Scandinavia, to Bahai people, persons from Brahma Kumaris and Buddhists as well as many related groups working with holism and the ageless wisdom. We have three categories of special relations to other groups and individuals:

1) Cooperative Partners: These are groups, organizations and persons that we have close contacts with and continued cooperation and mutual help.

2) Dialogue Partners: These are groups, organizations and persons that we have good and trustful relations with, especially regarding interreligious dialogue.

3) International Friends: These are groups, organizations and persons that we sympathize with and share informations with because of mutual interests.

To these 3 groups we send bi-annually e-mail newsletters to share ideas and news about activities. We also link with the groups on our website in these categories, but we do not expect all the other groups to do exactly the same. Our primary motive is to share spiritual values and relevant news with people and groups who are in sympathy with the ancient wisdom traditions and its modern esoteric expressions, or who are simply interested in friendly relations and possible dialogue.

We are located in Mejlgade 28 in the city Aarhus, Jutland - mainland of Denmark, and we have many activities. During seasons we have public lectures every forthnight. We have weekend-courses and The Theosophical School is held as a 2-year course consisting of teaching, studies, meditation and dialogue during 18 weekends. We have public meditations (Peace Meditations, Healing Meditations and Lightmeditations at the Full Moons) and we actively participate in dialogue activities, radio programmes, conferences etc.

Besides our teaching, meetings and dialogue activities we have:
